Project Fam Jam

It is about to be really busy around here, because I am knee deep in not only my One Room Challenge Bedroom, some knit picky things around our own home for a secret project & now I am about to start a major renovation with my new favorite clients (who just so happen to be family too!).  The great thing about working with clients is that it forces me to expand upon my own style.  My One Room Challenge clients are a bit more traditional than I typically steer & my cousins' style is a little more bohemian… so I am challenged to find a style that fits their personalities.  I personally think that this is the mark of a great designer, one that can morph their own design into various styles vs duplicating the same space in every home.

I'm going to share a One Room Challenge secret before Wednesday (shhhh!)… my room will not include two things I love to use: Black/White & Gold.  It is no where to be found.  But this next project will be based on them.  There will be an overall color palette of black & white, beautiful wood tones & metallic accents with a few cactuses in fabulous planters thrown in there too.

My cousins' signed on their time capsule of a 60's ranch on Friday & it is about to undergo some major changes.  Nearly every wall is coming out… including the majority of the ceiling!  So we have a lot to replace.  While we are currently focusing on the tile patterns, wood stains & cabinet options at the moment, we do have some decor ideas stewing in the background.

We will be bringing in some fabulous Black & White photography (isn't this Roger Moore print amazing!?), a few mid century touches as a nod to the history of the home & some great lighting.  We have already sourced a few items from Chairish to help drive the design.

Here are some more inspiration images we are feeling the vibe of //

I can't wait to share the project with you all throughout the next few months.  So be sure to follow  #ProjectFamJam on IG too for sneak peeks along the way.
