Creating a Child's Space

I'm continuing some design work for one of my favorite clients (you can see her Living Room we did here) & this time we are taking on her little girl's room!  One of my favorite things to design are kids rooms as you can just let your inhibitions go & have fun.  We are creating a fun space that this little California girl can grow up with using fun prints, bohemian touches & vintage finds.  While I am not sharing all of the details yet...  I will say that when shopping for a kid's space, don't feel like you have to simply shop the "Kid's Department".  I love sourcing from places like Serena & Lily, Anthropologie, Crate & Barrel, etc. for these spaces.  It's great to be able to bring items into the room that your children can grow into, not out of.  There will be plenty of toys filling the space that not every item needs to be childish.

I'll definitely keep you all updated on this one!!  It is going to be amazing!!

  2. I just ordered this rug off rugsusa.com for 70% off ($250 for an 8x10 shipped)! It arrived today and it's crazy cool. I got it for my girls' playroom and will be doing a post about it on my blog next week.

    Good luck! Laura
