Breakfast Nook with Domino & Laura Ashley

I have been shamelessly dropping hints about a “Secret Project”, well… this is it!  A few months back I was contacted by Domino Magazine to help with a project.  Could you just die?!  Domino emailed me. I may have shed a tear if I am being honest.  They said they loved the Hunted Interior & wanted to know if I would like to pair up to create a space to ReImagine Laura Ashley… Loving a challenge I immediately said “YES!” without even thinking of a space to ReImagine.
You all know our home is quite small.  And while there are always projects going on, we were starting to love the way each of the spaces was going.  I wasn’t looking to simply redo a space, just to redo a space.  We wanted to create a space we would really love & really use.  While we loved our Hutch/Desk at the end of our Kitchen, after creating the Office/Guest Room there wasn’t really a need for a second desk space.  And since we are now minus a Dining Room, we really needed a space to sit & dine as a family.   So we decided to create a Breakfast Nook & deck it out in Laura Ashley, only in a more current way.
The ironic part of this project is I grew up in the late 80’s, early 90’s in a Laura Ashley bedroom.  As I am sure a lot of you did as well.  You remember the look… Matching Floral Print Comforter, Pillows, Valances, Sheets… well everything.  My goal with this space was to still incorporate all of the lovely florals Laura Ashley offers, but to mix them up creating a more eclectic & modern vibe.
Head on over to Domino.com to check out how our space went from a Mood Board to realization using some amazing Laura Ashley products.
btw… there will be a few tutorials coming your way from this project so stay tuned!
