As I have mentioned here before, we are not a Halloween Decorating family. We will go all out on the kiddo's costume, but we are lucky to get a pumpkin on the back steps. I tried to put forth a little more effort this year & got creative with my pumpkins. Notice how they are not carved... yeah, I am carving challenged. Maybe one of the reasons I never put forth the effort.
I added some simple gold stripes to my gorgeous white pumpkin with a gold leaf pen. Goodness, I love a white pumpkin...Our little one got the gold glitter treatment via multiple coats of Rustoleum's Spray Glitter. But the one that really required some effort & thought was our antler pumpkin.
I used this tutorial from my girl Cassie at Hi Sugarplum for the antlers... basically taping together some sticks & dipping them in plaster. Knowing these were going to be uber temporary I skipped the sanding step & just went straight for the glitter spray. While not perfect, I think the point comes across. I cut a hole in the back & scooped out the seeds. I then cut two small holes at the top that the antlers fit into securely. I think he's pretty cute...
