Client Reveal: Vintage Meets Modern
A few months back I shared this Vintage meets Modern Mood Board I did for one of my clients. Well she has been hard at work replicating this feel & turning their living room into a chic & layered space… and I kinda want to move in. They had all the basics already: the sectional, a few pillows, media console, but it was missing something. Working together to determine their style, we created this layered space that allows for entertaining, toddler play & football viewing! I also wanted to pay tribute to their home’s gorgeous architectural elements.
Take the tour!
While I don’t normally share sources/products that I select for my clients (because that is what they are paying me for) I do have to brag on two of my favorite additions to the space. The original room had zero over head lighting, so by installing this large multi arm chandelier from Ballard Designs in the barrel ceiling we were able to spread the light throughout the room. Game changer! Also, as most of the occasional tables & other items are actually vintage finds, the Society Social Bar Cart fit in seamlessly with the design. It’s vintage glam feel still has a modern air about it that was the perfect little filler for the space next to the fireplace.
Big thanks to my amazing client!! And my other client for taking these amazing pictures!! You might remember that chic little nursery I designed earlier this year… well these two happen to be BFF’s. And if I ever make it to their town, we are all going shopping. We are bound to get in trouble… in a good way.

That bar cart is amazing. And I'm dying to find a brass trunk.
This turned out beautiful! I love that chandelier! What a statement!!
So unbelievably beautiful and I totally agree, that chandelier is a game changer! Great job!
What a beautiful transition! That huge arched window is incredible!
Wow, that space is amazing! You nailed it! And that chandelier is WHAT'S UP! Seriously, I need that somewhere in my life, it's beautiful. Thanks for sharing the source : ) Great job, K!
Turned out so pretty! And, I love what that huge mirror does for the space.
Beautiful dΓ©cor…in a beautiful space! Love the pieces you chose and how it all came together!
It is BEAUTIFUL, Kristin! So talented, you!!
Really great space! And that chandy is perfect. That is something I am dying to update in our house, but my husband replaced all the fixtures before we got married, so it's hard to justify changing them just because I want something different. :/ They make such a big difference though!
What a lovely space! You really blended the two styles so well – each piece looks made for the other. The client did an awesome job executing the vision. I think my favorite part is the cane chairs!
Gorgeous! I love the starburst mirror detail!
holy mother, that's amazing!!! love the windows and rounded ceiling…but love how you added the mirror and light and art and awesome pillows and and and
Everything is gorgeous as usual. The architecture is amazing too.
Amazing, Kristin! I love the sunburst mirrors in the shelves and the fun patterns in the pillows. Great job, girl! π
It looks amazing- so glam! And that big black mirror really helps complete the space so much more than a large piece of art.
this is gorgeous! It looked fabulous on the story board but it looks even better in person! Love all the vintage details and that you found several vintage things! I love Ballard for lighting! They are affordable and always very chic! Great work!

Once again you knocked it out of the park with your vision and creating a classic and beautiful design. Always inspired by you!
What an absolutely gorgeous room – you really embraced and enhanced the architectural details to their fullest…I really love the choice of lighting, and the mirror placed behind the floor lamp to make the most of the natural light. I so enjoy reading your blog and your local shopping sources, as I live in Roswell. Thank you for sharing your ideas and inspirations! Kelly
That is absolutely gorgeous. What a stunning design and execution. Bravo!
It looks beautiful! I think I could take every aspect of your room and incorporate it into my home! I always love seeing the proposed design and then the design implicated! Thank you for sharing!
Hi Kristin. I see you mentioned that you didn't stain the top of this. Did you use a different top all together then? I'm trying to figure out how the top of the Forhoja went from Birch to that beautiful color on the top of yours. Thanks!!
Kristin, I LOVE the wine crate idea. I am actually trying to do it and have had some issues finding the right panels to fit the drawer fronts. Do you know the size panel you used?
I am not sure the exact dimensions, but I do know we cut the panels down to fit our drawer fronts. Hope this helps!
We seal the butcher block top every six months or so with a Mineral Oil. It doesn't alter the color much, but brings out a richness.
Oh, so nice to find this (Pinterest, of course).
I've collected wine crates for a long time to use as inset drawer fronts. Saw it in an airline magazine years ago and have never let go of the idea. Very cool to see what you've done!
