Obsessed: Blue & White
Unknowingly, I have been collecting images of Blue & White Ware for a very long time. Apparently I am just drawn to it. Do you have anything like that? It’s classic appeal is probably what draws me in, but when paired with bright pink florals or other punchy hues it takes on a whole new level of chic.
I am slightly obsessed with this room designed by Parker Kennedy for the Cathedral Antiques Show & Tour of Homes in Atlanta. (Still open through tomorrow Sunday Feb. 10th) The pattern of the drapery panels is reminescent of the classic urns & vases. Hits of pink make this a playful space while still remaining adult. The use of Blue & White ware throughout the entire space keeps the eye moving throughout the room.
And now I want a blue sofa… don’t you?!?

Simple in color does not mean boring. The addition of the rug reinforces the vases classic appeal. The addition of black always makes a statement. (Every room should have a touch of black I think…)

Grouping the jars & vases together add a traditional layer to this eclectic dining room. Modern meets Traditional in this space & it all works. Adding in traditional elements to a modern space (& vice versa) makes the space feel collected & livable. This is the image that has inspired my collection!

This stunning coffee table styling is taken to the next level with the fresh addition of the blue & white and again… pink. If something works? Why mess with it?!?

A more traditional display of the porcelain vases is made current by the bold lines & upholstery on the fabulous chair. And of course a garden stool… another must have in my book.
Layer Layer LAYER! The grouping of the blue & white pitcher with the cobalt blue candle & the turquoise foo dog create a little color story all their own. Paired with black & white… well you know I am sold.
I mean! Just gorgeous. And they have me craving spring something fierce.
And thus my love affair continues. My little blue & white ginger jar has a tiny little friend now… so we are moving towards that mass grouping. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled.
Happy Saturday!!

Girl, I'm with you! I love classic blue and white – just picked up a blue and white graphic print slipper chair a couple weeks ago! Can't go wrong with that color combo – so versatile too!
I love blue and white. Neiman Marcus has B& W dinnerware that is inexpensive and beautiful, and I bought a set last year–I get so many compliments on it! And my mom has tons of Chinese blue and white pieces, and I've been hinting I'd like them.
I wish I could love it. I grew up in an ALL BLUE house, even the shag carpet was blue. I have blue overload. WIsh I could embrace it.
I just realized that I have a small collection of blue and white pieces in my garage. Love it paired with pink… OMG!!!! My house is going to be a rainbow I tell ya, lol!
Loving the entry way. The black mosaic floor tile is lovely! Thanks for an inspiring post!
Hi Kristen –
Have always LOVED blue and white and am happy I have collected and KEPT my pieces over the years. It is so classic – I even have a Pinterest board devoted to my love of blue and white {jilhinsoninteriors} and just added some of your images to it. Pairing blue and white with pink or kelly green really updates it and makes it more playful. LOVE!

I agree…these are my favorite for decorating modern, traditional, contemporary…basically any space. You can search for "blue willow" china or vases instead of blue and white. If you watch "Scandal", the Oval Office is decorated with blue willow vases as well. If it's good enough for the White House, then it's good enough for my house lol

I'm all over those like a dog on a three legged cat π I was given a few of my grandmothers and recently picked up another piece for $3 at Goodwill. I just love the arrangement you have going on with yours. The blue and white looks so great with your gold wishbone.
I went to the inspiration house and this was was even more gorgeous in person!
My, you are quite the photographer with a great sense of how a successful photo composition is supposed to look. I am upgrading from my point and shoot camera this week and am hoping that I'm as successful with my camera as you are. Good job!
