WOO HOO!!

There are some fun things happening over here... but unfortunately I can't share the news yet!  There are a few of these little secrets in the works & hopefully I can share them with you all soon.  One of them involves our dining room.

I painted the entire room white yesterday (without telling the hubs... SURPRISE HONEY!)  The funny thing is he came home, looked at the room & asked what color it was originally (& had been for 6 years!)  "Babe, it was brown."  Big transformation.  It's light & bright!  & something I thought was going to be a quick change.  A little paint & a new pair of drapery panels... done.   Uh, not after our brainstorming session last night.

Somehow the conversation flipped from "What do you think about a narrow ledge on this wall?" to "Let's build an entire built in bookcase around our french doors!"  Something like this...

Really?!?  I have wanted built ins forever!!! I can't wait to get this project started!!!  I immediately started sketching out our idea.

I love the idea of a collected library feel in the dining room.  I am already styling these shelves in my head & they aren't even built yet.

  6. Hi, I'm new to your blog and loving it. I can't wait to see your bookcases. I love the library/dining room feel as well and have a couple of gorgeous bookcases in my dining room. I'm working on styling them and the dining table to be more of a library feel too. I look forward to hearing about the construction process and how much you like the finished project!
