Vintage Fresh: A Client’s Room in Progress
As I shared the other day, I have a new online client who sent this amazing image as her inspiration for her living room & adjoining sitting room/playroom.
We have decided that she is going for a Vintage Fresh look. Bold mixes of patterns with neutral furniture pieces would need to fill her current spaces. Since she already has neutral seating in both areas I was brought in to assist in accessorizing & filling their new neutral space into a home. Not necessarily focusing on the color pallet from the inspiration image, but the daring mixing of patterns, I got to work on the Sitting Room/Playroom.
Inspired by the colors in the adorable photograph of their daughter, I pulled together a scheme of vintage inspired, colorful floral prints that will all work with their existing love seat & chair. Since this will double as a playroom, I wanted to incorporate pieces that would provide soft edges that are easily climbed on, as well as double for ample toy storage.
Their playroom gets amazing light & has gorgeous bay windows. These can sometimes be difficult to dress. We decided to treat the windows with panels that will filter the light, not block it from filling the space. The image below was the inspiration for mixing the patterned drapery panels on the outer windows & the plain sheers in the middle.

I was also excited to be able to finally specify one of my favorite Artists… Nancy Ramirez of Cozamia. I am obsessed with all of her prints & can’t wait to order one of my own. The colors in the print below were literally made for this room…
