The Color of 2012...

I don't know about you... but I needed a Christmas break.  So here is an introduction to next years "IT" color.  Apparently the people that say things, say that THE color of 2012 will be TANGERINE.  Yummy.  I personally would consider Tangerine to be in between Orange and Yellow on the color wheel... Now if you've passed Marigold you've gone too far ;)  But seriously I think any saturated version of orange would probably fall within this hot trend.  Are you brave enough to jump into this delicious color palette?  Here are some ideas from the timid to the bold.

Top off your upholstery with a Tangerine colored throw.  A throw is always a great way to bring in trendy colors without making a long term commitment.

Add pops of that juicy color to neutral slipcovers or upholstery.  This could be done with a fabric banding, a corded trim or even grosgrain ribbon.

Unify miss matched chairs by using paint.  { Notice the raw wood legs.  This is called Dipped Furniture.  I just did a DIY version of this!!! Post to follow soon }

Take a Craigslist find & give it new life.  Add some gloss white paint & a bright ikat take on Tangerine.

I think for right now, the only Tangerine in my life will be in the fruit form.  But you never know.  Now at least you too are one of those people in the know on THE hot color of the year.  Orange you glad I wrote this post?!?  (Sorry)

Cheers- K
